Your workday as a technical worker / maintenance mechanic in the Netherlands
As a technical worker or maintenance mechanic in the Netherlands, you ensure that all machines and installations are always in top condition. Each day brings something new: sometimes you perform routine maintenance, other times you step in to fix a sudden breakdown. You install new systems, replace parts, and suggest smart improvements. Every task calls for your technical insight and hands-on mindset. You work independently when possible and as part of a team when needed: you are the go-to person whenever a technical issue arises.
→ When it comes to working hours in the technical field, there are plenty of options. Some technical roles follow a day shift, while others involve shift work or on-call duties. Just tell us what suits you best (full-time, part-time, daytime only, or shift work) and we will find the job that fits your lifestyle.
What can you expect as a technical worker or maintenance mechanic in the Netherlands?
At ABflexkracht, you can count on an excellent salary starting from €16.00 gross per hour, depending on your experience and specific tasks. In addition, you will receive:
- Shift allowance according to the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) in the Netherlands or company policy (if applicable);
- Overtime pay in line with the CAO or company rules, for any extra hours you work;
- Travel allowance;
- 8% holiday pay on top of your gross salary;
- Pension scheme through StiPP (according to the ABU-CAO), helping you build for the future;
- Free training and certificates to develop your skills, such as VCA (safety), NEN 3140, forklift certificate or other technical training courses;
- Personal guidance from a dedicated contact person at ABflexkracht, someone who knows you personally and is always ready to help with any questions.
Some employers offer extras such as work attire, personal protective equipment, internal growth programs, or even the chance of a permanent position.
